About

Field-tested gear for the vertical world

This is a small, independent website about outdoor gear. We publish field reviews, buyer's guides, and notes from testing equipment on trails, rivers, and campsites. There is no company behind this site—just a small team of writers and testers who like to spend time outside.

We are not a store. We do not sell products, and we do not run a membership or login system. When we link to a retailer, that link may earn us a small affiliate commission, which helps cover the cost of keeping this site online. That relationship never influences what we test or how we write about it.

Our goal is simple: clear, honest writing about gear, so you can decide what is worth carrying into the backcountry.
